We are searching for a Director of Youth Ministries

Main Purpose

Invest in the lives of St. Paul youth and the community –
nurturing and equipping them to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior

Requirements of Employment

     Basic Job Duties:
     • Plan and lead weekly programming
     • Maintain open communications with senior pastor, youth commission, and council
     • Account for daily work as well as long and short term goal accomplishments
     • Report to senior pastor weekly as well as church council and youth commission monthly
     • Communicate regularly with youth and parents regarding events and schedules
     • Network with other community ministries seeking joint ministry opportunities
     • Participate in parish worship
     • Accomplish other duties as assigned

Organizational Relationships

     • Report directly to Pastor Swanson
     • Work with youth commission for planning and programming
     • Coordinate events with staff and commissions
     • Work within guidelines and standards established by the church council

Primary Responsibilities

      Lead
     • Serve as an example of a devoted follower of Christ
     • Plan, direct, and supervise youth ministries for both middle and high school
     • Assist in Confirmation and Sunday School
     • Seek opportunities for spiritual and professional growth through continuing education

      Coordinate
     • Coordinate and train volunteers to serve in the youth program. Make certain that all volunteers
have background checks, driver’s licenses and insurance. Oversee and maintain the safety standards
of the church as they pertain to Youth.
     • Integrate youth activities into the overall church calendar and other programs

      Engage
     • Equip and enable each young person to discover their faith and assist them in reaching out to their peers
     • Initiate outreach to the surrounding community to encourage all youth to participate in the youth program
     • Communicate frequently with the youth (i.e. e-mails, phone calls, texts, IM’s etc…)
     •
Communicate with parents and the St. Paul community at large
     • Serve as a mentor and confidant to the youth by showing interest in their personal daily activities,
events, as well as discussing issues they may encounter in life
