Weekly Worship“O come, let us bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our maker!” — Psalm 95:6
Weekly worship sustains our life as a congregation. Each week we gather to hear God’s Word, uplift one another in prayer, join in songs of praise, and celebrate the Sacraments. We invite you to come and share this time with us.
Saturday evening worship is at 5 p.m. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate. A variety of musical instruments accompany the service that follows an informal liturgical setting.
Sunday morning worship is at 8:00 and 10:45 a.m. (8:00 and 10:00 a.m. during the summer.) At these services we celebrate the Christian faith using a variety of more traditional liturgical settings using the rich resources of the new Evangelical Lutheran Worship book. Holy Communion is celebrated at all services.
Weekly worship is centered around the great themes of the Church Year, beginning with the festival themes that celebrate the life of our Lord: Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent and Easter. During the Pentecost half of the Church Year, we are especially mindful of the Holy Spirit’s call to live lives of faithful service as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Members are encouraged to serve in worship as:
• Assisting Ministers, who participate in worship liturgy.
• Communion Assistants, who serve communion during worship.
• Ushers and greeters, who welcome visitors and members and keep services running smoothly.
• Altar Guild, who prepares the altar and communion for worship each week.
In addition you are encouraged to join a choir or play an instrument at a worship service, or serve on the Worship, Music and Arts Commission that plans worship and special events.
