Helping at HomeIn serving others we serve Christ.Caring Ministry is St. Paul's commission of volunteers who want to reach out and give back to the local and global community. Members plan and carry out many different projects throughout the year to help those in need of physical, emotional, and spiritual care. Willing volunteers are always needed to help see through Jesus' message of love and care for others. DuPage Emergency Shelter Each week volunteers shop for groceries and bring them to the shelter. In addition, volunteers are needed to shop for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. Villa Park/Lombard Food Pantry Worshipers are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to church for distribution to people in need through the Pantry. St. Paul members make regular deliveries of the collected items to the Pantry. Walk-In Ministry St. Paul Lutheran Church is actively supports the Walk-In-Ministry of Villa Park/Lombard. Through this ministry, located at First Church of Lombard, emergency assistance is provided for people in need. Fourth of July Parade for Food Pantry Everyone loves a parade! It has become an annual Independence Day tradition in Villa Park to join with members of Grace Lutheran Church pushing shopping carts through the streets of Villa Park to collect food for the Villa Park/Lombard Pantry. Volunteers gather in the Jewel parking lot on St. Charles and Ardmore an hour before the parade begins to claim and decorate a shopping cart in preparation for the parade. PADS Volunteers provide food, shelter and fellowship for homeless people at Etz Chaim in Lombard on the first and fifth Sundays of the month from October through April. Annual CROP Walk Each October, we join with other neighborhood churches raising money for Church World Service. |
