Green Team

“ The earth is the Lord's, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it.” — Psalm 24:1

Vision

As stewards of God’s creation, the people of St. Paul Lutheran Church desire to live in harmony with other life and to preserve the earth for future generations. We seek to become a Green Congregation that intentionally works toward healing creation and that contributes to the transformation of society.

Goals

The goals of the Green Congregation program are:

     • To integrate care for creation into what the congregation is and what the congregation does
     • To encourage personal spiritual transformation toward a new relationship with God and all of God's creation
     • To make a difference in the global community by acting locally and by promoting ecological justice

The St. Paul Church Council has acknowledged our congregational responsibility to be a steward of all God's creation. The Green Congregation ministry is woven into the structures that already exist at the church. Existing commissions and committees are charged with incorporating the vision and goals of the program into their work.

The Green Team has been formed to provide leadership, oversight, and support for development and implementation of a congregation-wide action plan. The Green Team reports through the Stewardship Commission, but works with other commissions, committees, and members as needed to implement plans. It communicates with commissions and committees periodically, celebrates the work being done, and keeps the Council and congregation apprised of the successes and challenges along the way.

If you desire to be a part of this vital ministry, please contact one of the Green Team leaders or the church office.
