Adult Christian Care“Now Peter's mother in law was suffering from a high fever. Then Jesus stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. Immediately she got up and began to serve them.” — Luke 4:38
The mission of Adult Christian Care is to provide a planned program that stimulates and enriches the daytime hours of the moderately physically and/or cognitively impaired adults so that they may continue to reside in their homes.
The program provides opportunities for mental and physical stimulation, in a safe and inviting environment while giving caregivers much needed respite.
Adult Christian Care was established in 1978 to meet the needs of older persons in the community. A cooperative effort of local churches, including St. Paul Lutheran Church, evolved into an ecumenical, non-profit organization that supports this daycare program in addition to client fees and other donations. The daily schedule includes physical, social, intellectual and spiritual activities to help maintain motor and cognitive skills. Games, crafts, exercise, music and social activities brighten the day for participants under the watchful eyes of a caring staff.
Adult Christian Care is housed in comfortable facilities at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 314 W. Vallette Street in Elmhurst.
